Hello style pantry friends,

Some pieces just work effortlessly from day to night, casual to polished—no overthinking, no fuss. This black ribbed knit skirt is exactly that. It’s the kind of piece I can reach for when I want to feel put-together without feeling overdone. And the best part? I made it myself with fabric I had tucked away in my sewing closet.

This skirt has quickly become one of those pieces for me. With its high side slit, it feels modern and a little unexpected, but it’s also endlessly wearable. As I get ready for a beach trip next week, I’m already planning to bring it along because I know I can throw it on with sandals during the day, then swap in a structured layer and a different shoe to make it evening-ready.

I can’t remember where I found this sweatshirt, but here is a great alt. I love No.6 clogs! Mine are from a previous collection. Here is another pretty alt in tan and white, and I love these, too. You can find similar skirts here and a more affordable option here.
