Hello Style Pantry friends,

Luke asked me the sweetest, most unexpected question the other day:
"Are you a better cook than that person on TV?"
And before I could stop myself, I said: "Yes."

But the truth is—it’s not about better. It’s about different.

I don’t cook to impress. I cook because I love making beautiful, high-touch things in my home kitchen. The kind of food that’s quietly layered. Intentional. Thoughtful. The kind of food that might be at home on a Michelin-starred plate, but lives right here—in mine.

I watched the final episode of The Bear recently. If you’ve seen it, you know.
There’s this moment where a chef—one we’ve followed, respected, rooted for—makes the decision to walk away. Not in failure. But in clarity. He realized he needed space. Space to create outside the noise. Space to discover what his life could be like without the rush of service.

That hit me hard.

I don’t know if I’d ever want to run a restaurant. Maybe not.
But I do miss the kitchen. The real one. The rhythm…
